Formed in 1956 by banjoist Vince Saunders, the South Frisco Jazz Band is an eight piece traditional jazz band featuring the two-cornet sound of King Oliver's legendary Creole Jazz Band of 1923. Presented here is their classic 1969 recording, "Hot Tamale Man" featuring Vince Saunders (banjo); Roy Brewer (trombone); Bob Rann (tuba) Mike Baird (alto sax, clarinet); Roy Ortmann (piano); Ray Ronnel (cornet; vocals) and Bob Raggio (washboard, percussive devices). All selections newly re-mastered.
