Ethan Smith works as a rock and roll DJ for a radio station in Seattle. It's a great gig, but doesn't exactly pay him a living wage. In the same building is a conservative radio talk show station with a popular local host. When the host goes missing before his show, Ethan steps in and pretends to be a Republican pundit. His fictitious persona, Charles Fern, is an instant hit and becomes the new voice of right-wing talk radio. What was meant to be a one-time thing becomes a high-paying job, and Ethan is foisted onto the national stage where he may lose everything- including the love of his life.
